How to Control a Live Scoreboard from a Phone

OmniScore lets a trusted scorekeeper update a live board from a phone using Shared Control. The Viewer page can stay open in OBS, on a TV, or on a venue computer while the scorer handles points and clock changes separately.

Best setup

Use one device for display and another device for scoring.

  • Display device: OBS computer, TV browser, projector computer, or venue display.
  • Scorekeeping device: phone, tablet, or laptop with the Shared Control link.
  • Owner device: optional Owner Console tab for setup, recovery, and full board management.

Steps

  1. 1

Create the board as the owner

Sign in, choose the sport, and configure the board in the Owner Console.

  2. 2

Open the Viewer on the display

Load the Viewer link on the production or venue display device.

  3. 3

    Share the control link

Send the Shared Control link to the person responsible for scorekeeping.

  4. 4

    Test live updates

Change the score from the phone and confirm the Viewer updates before the event starts.

Operational tips

  • Send control links only to trusted scorekeepers.
  • Keep the Owner Console open if the event has a dedicated operator.
  • Use a stable Wi-Fi or mobile connection on the scoring phone.
  • Agree on who controls the clock and who controls score changes before tipoff.

FAQ

Does the phone need an app?

No. Shared Control runs in the phone browser, so the scorekeeper does not need to install an app.

Can the display and phone be in different places?

Yes. As long as both devices can reach OmniScore, the Viewer and controls can stay synced over the internet.
