Remote Control

Shared Control Links for Remote Scorekeeping

OmniScore Shared Control lets a trusted scorer update a live scoreboard from their own phone, tablet, or laptop. It separates scorekeeping from ownership, so the board owner can manage setup while someone else handles live updates.

When to use Shared Control

  • A volunteer is keeping score while another person operates OBS.
  • The scoreboard is on a venue screen and the scorer is courtside.
  • The board owner wants to avoid sharing account credentials.
  • A temporary event needs quick handoff between operators.

How it differs from the Viewer

The Viewer link is for display only. Shared Control is for people who should update the live score. Keeping those links separate prevents the public display URL from becoming an editing surface.

FAQ

Should I post a Shared Control link publicly?

No. Shared Control links should only go to trusted scorekeepers because they can change the live board.

Can the owner still control the board?

Yes. The Owner Console remains available for full control even when another person uses Shared Control.
